Thank you for enlightening me on SMS.
Let me elaborate on my requirements,
1. We have automated scripts which would send out EMAILS to a specific
address. Most of these will be short messages , 1or 2 lines.
2. I need to receive these emails on my cellphone or alphanumeric pager.
And i need to have alerts set for the same. I cant get up in the middle
of the night and open
some application to check my emails. I need to receive some audible
alerts as we do with sms.
Airtel, Hutch and many such telcos had a email to sms service whereas
you send an email to e.g. <MY_NUMBER>@airtel.co.in , and I would
receive it on my cellphone.
These services are no longer available , atleast not that i know of. if
anyone knows if any telco providing this service, please let me know.
