Power spikes/dips at the station are rare, but possible. Flashing or other problems between the transmitter power output and the antenna are also possible. However, dips are likely to affect all receivers just about the same, since data would be missing. I've never heard anything bad about the LT-37131, but I have no information about the Dish rcvr. You could probably get better feedback on these on www.avsforum.com <http://www.avsforum.com/> . If I were to guess, I'd say that there is much more likely to be a power supply issue within the Dish receiver than at any single TV station. Except for Florida (Florida Power and Light is legendary for power dips), power at tv stations is not much of a problem, and most stations have filtered, backed up power at transmitter and studio. I think the Dish receiver lacks that.
