I always read the entire articles I post.

So, 68%, nowhere close to the 90% of a couple of years ago, or the "revised" 
common wisdom figure of 85%

I knew you would jump on this...

Recently we were talking about the market being in the range of 70 to 75%.

So 68% is it an outlier. And this study only looked at Consumer Reports 
subscribers. Even if this is accurate - which is questionable - it does not 
suggest massive cord cutting. As I have said for several years now, let me know 
when it reaches 50%.

That came as a surprise to me. The number seems to be elusive. Helps justify 
the recent news about the Starz channel.

The news about Starz is not unexpected. Like HBO they need to offer an Internet 
service to compete with Netflix. And like HBO, they are not abandoning cable; 
they are adding a new way to sell their premium service.
