Nope. Not here. In markets with FiOS, the only choice is FiOS for any

What an absurd statement!
It takes multiple attempts to get the simplest concepts through, we have
discovered over the years. Once again, Craig. Verizon sells no DSL here
anymore. If your DSL service breaks, they will only give you the option to get
FiOS. Even if it does not break, they have sent us notices saying we need to
either migrate to FiOS or they will drop us as customers. Our long-time
neighbors, just the next street over in the same neighborhood, have already
been forced to FiOS. This is fact, Craig.
The reality is that DSL is near end-of-life,
Completely false.

AT&T continues to use ADSL, newer variants, and I showed you already the 1 Gb/s
variant coming on. Plus, there are other options than FTTH anyway.
The fact that Verizon is now moving away from DSL in markets where
they ALSO deployed FIOS should come as no surprise.
What comes as no surprise is that the enforced migration costs so much that
Verizon decided to call it quits with FiOS. Although they continue to insist on
the migration, in those markets where it already exists.
They have no choice.
Of course they have choices. The most expensive choice is the one they picked.
I suppose Verizon had expected people to come flocking voluntarily to the
much-hyped FTTH, but this didn't happen. It's a rather cumbersome upgrade, you
become responsible for your own battery for telephone service during a power
outage, and it doesn't last very long.
Thanks for making my case. The cable guys have already upgraded
their networks with fiber to the neighborhood,
I have had to explain that to you multiple times too, Craig. All hybrid systems
keep pushing fiber closer to homes. Makes no difference whether it's coax or
twisted pair. How many iterations of this do we have to go through, before it
sinks in?
