Of course.

One such is antenna placement on the tower. Have all the DTV antennas
been moved to more ideal locations yet, or are some of the analog
antennas still taking up the prime real estate? I suspect the latter,
especially in cases where the final digital will be in the freq channel
of the analog.

Another tweak is translators. With the overly cluttered spectrum, not
too much of a chance to add those yet, nor as much incentive if viewers
can just switch to NTSC (which I certainly don't do, except for testing,
but I know that many people here and in Europe still do).

Well, certainly I agree that this gives the MVPDs an opportunity, which
(hilariously) the OTA broadcasters are happily adevrtizing away on their
OTA ads. Whether it was a "ploy," I doubt that.

And I wouldn't harp so much on 8-VSB, especially in your case. Your
reception problems, if anything, would be reduced with a single carrier
scheme like 8-VSB, compared with COFDM. If you lived in an urban canyon,
perhaps things would be different.
