according to what I've heard shoulder surfing is a brilliant way of getting your pin.

As for what you said about fraud, I've said for ages that the cards aren't safe coming through the post like that.

Also consider this, as you say, someone gets your details by opening your card, imagine that they then intercept your pin number, they could do that but not necessarily intercept your signature as you wouldn't have signed the card at that point.

orry but all the evidence is that it's very very easy to
forge a signatures.
Fraud is actually down, (when card is used in shops) as a direct result of
chip and PIN.


However be aware fraud is up, for (card not  present) internet shopping
transactions.

Consider the following possible way of fraud:

Bank  sends you card.
Someone  opens the  envelope before you get it.
They then make  note  of your name,  address, card number
(as well as  the  card's  security number)
They then reseal  the envelope and  when you receive it you won't be aware
someone else has all the  details then need,  to shop at your
expense, on internet!
