Hi, Andrew!
This never worked on the System ordered by my wife and subsequently sent back.
Hi,
The webpage is at:
http://www.portset.co.uk/pdmc.htm
The problem with it is that it just has no video output, which although they had a good reason for doing this I don't believe there are many blind people who are not paying a television license for one reason or another, (i.e, if you have a video recorder you need a license), and it just really makes the product closed to anyone else who needs to use it. I still really applaud Portset for what they are doing, but I wouldn't buy it without video out.
The other questions I have on the unit would be how would software updates be delivered to users, and how easy would the product be to recover (due to the fact it has a Windows based OS onboard) if a failure occurred (i.e, file corruption etc)?
I have been looking into various appliances for various applications at work, and these are two very important questions that I always ask.
Thanks. Andrew.
