Hi Carol

If you have any questions about digiTV from nebula, why not give their
technical support team a call on:

01689.897090

They are the most approachable people I've ever come across and very
knowledgeable about their product. You will probably get through immediately
to either Kash or Alison, who will give you the minimum specification for a
laptop. However, I would add that the processor speed etc., is secondary to
having the USB port giving enough power to the device, and I would
definitely use a powered USB hub to run the module from a laptop.

I would also recommend that you upgrade to version 3.5.21 as soon as you can
as it is the most stable of the beta releases, which as far as I can
determine has only one small bug which appears on one of my computers but
not the other, however, I believe this has already been addressed in the
forthcoming release of beta 22.

Finally, I suggest you get your aerial engineer to inspect your aerial
installation before buying the digiTV as this will set your mind at rest
about that side of things when setting up the system. You won't then spend
hours puzzling over why you can get BBC 1 but not world service when
actually that particular multiplex is transmitting in low power in your
area.

Its like so many things in life, if you get the basics right the rest is
plain sailing. I for one couldn't do without my digiTV systems and cant
remember the last time I had a problem with it.

Regards

Steve Green

Steve,

I agree with you both about the PC being the best media centre and also
about the Nebula card.

Do you have Nebula actually running on the laptop then, or just on the
system somewhere else in the house? I'm interested in what spec laptops
could cope with the Nebula card as I want to move all our media stuff to the
lounge and utilise the better speakers in there.
