In Belgium it is the reverse of your account Peter.
Here, masks (like FFP2) are no longer available in any filter shops, like spray
paint shops, for supermarket cashiers, or for pharmacies personnel, for dirt
cleaners, waste container handling.
The myth created here this week was that sooner or later our nurses, army and
police will run out of COVID-19 masks. So this week two 747s arrived from China
delivering in total 10 million FFP-2 type masks (Alibaba) exclusively for
medical, policing and army personnel.
China no longer needs many of its masks anymore (so far). So why does our gov.
hinder to buy millions more of masks allowing to protect our own non-medical
people. Political issue, as our minister said she would certainly not approve
everybody on the streets to carry a mask. Why not? Everybody in China wears a
mask! That would not improve her minister standing or ? On the other hand other
Chinese companies can sell masks as well for civil use compensation.
What is the present mask availability situation in Canada and the US?
