Maybe you are ignoring AR emails for at least a 6 weeks. Masks *do* provide
protection both ways the experts now advise, after changing their minds.
This was mentioned in AR emails recently. No one is safe, say, in a crowded bus
of many positives breathing down their necks.

Masks are for the infected, to keep them from infecting others. They
provide little/no protective benefit for the uninfected.
