I have previously understood that no face mask can filter virus
particles and that conventional face masks create, after a few minutes
use, exactly the warm and wet environment in which bacteria and viruses
thrive.

Bacteria like it wet and warm.

viruses apparently survice best on colder conditions.
The reason why (avial) flue is a winter phenomenon.
Increase temps and the deterioration accelerates.
( viruses are just static protein constructs. they weather away.)

IMU:
Masks are good for containing virus sources and less so for protecting sinks.

distance. don't connect existing exchange networks that have had interaction anyway. My wife works in mobile care.
My advice: dont visit the dispatcher buerau, don't use employer provided transport ( that a range of other employees use as well
over the day.)

slightly different domains.
Antivaxers ( measles ) here are connected to alternative education methods Steinerschule and similar.
These schools/kindergarten/.. places collect their "customers" from a larger capture area than a regular school or creche.

In case of a measles bout these kids are the perfect wider range spreaders.
They may all go to a special place.
But they interact with other kids where they live ( often quite a distance away.) That way you link up preexisting networks and
work as an effective spreader.
