IIRC IIS has a graphical configuration. Apache has cryptic text files
for configuration. I remember a thread on /. which ranted about apache's
cryptic configuration. Of course this is more of a head ache to the sys
admins. For my basic needs, apache works well out of the box.
It's not just apache, look up almost any software in the FOSS world
and you would find that the emphasis on features and/or performance is
much greater than user interfaces and ease of use. There are
exceptions of course, but the majority goes by this trend. Whether
this is a boon or a bane is dependent on the user base. I for one, and
I am sure many of the so-called geeks here would agree on this,
consider it a boon and would on any day go for more power and
flexibility rather than ease of use...
