I think you have misunderstood - only those students that are fit for
nothing else will become staff. And they will not know foss.
However outrageous such a statement may sound to many, I tend to agree
with Kenneth here. During my engineering under-graduation course I
have seen teachers who didn't know to use a calculator and teachers
who typed a c program in emacs and tried pressing Ctrl+F9 (of Turbo C
fame) to compile and run a program, though the latter are far better.
