There is also a fair number of larger HDTV sets with 4:3 screens. The Consumer Electronics Association's definition of an HDTV set does NOT preclude a 4:3 screen. I think you will also find quite a few plasma TVs in this country that are 16:9 but only SDTV. In Europe and Japan, you will find huge numbers of 16:9 SDTV sets.
