Hi,

Maybe it doesn't. Window-Eyes certainly does and I thought
that JAWS would
have got with the times by now, but maybe not.

All the best

Jaws gives info in safemode? Since when did it do that,
And how does one
go about using safemode if needed?

Hi Clive,

No screen reader will give you information in Safe Mode
except Window-Eyes
and JAWS I believe. MS should do that I agree. But you can
set up Windows
from scratch, you just can't install it from scratch. If
you want to
activate it though, just press Windows-U and Narrator will
kick in. Get
your Windows up and running then download NVDA. Job done.

All the best

Hi Steve,

This is a valid point regarding the need for a dedicated
screenreader,
provided that Microsoft do more to make sure you can here
your computer as
it loads up - say, when it asks you whether you want to run
in safe mode, or
tells you about errors encountered during the boot-up
process. There's more
to accessibility than just screenreaders though, so the
subject does deserve
at least an honourable mention.

Best,
Clive

Hi,

Who cares? We don't need one. Just download NVDA.

All the best

Hi all.
First of all want to apologize for cross posting but want to
raise an
important question.
For all who have not watched the presentation that Microsoft
put out
regarding the win 10 consumer preview this is the audio
link.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16617710/videoplayback.m
4a
Note.
The presentation is a full presentation without the cutting
off of the
question answer session I have only converted into audio so
that it becomes
small to download.
The original video presentation is about 1.35 GB In the
entire presentation
of about 2hrs 19 min and 23 seconds Microsoft has not
discussed on
accessibility or regarding adding a screen reader to windows
10 and I mean
full fledge screen reader.
So now what do we do next.
Although there are some fantastic things in this
presentation will not spoil
the excitement watch and see
