Fastener is steel; rest is aluminum.
Worse case I’ll use a clay dam an aluminum sulfate to dissolve both the hex
and the fastener. For this problem a day or two should loosen the hex.
That, however, is both time consuming and messy in this set up: it also has
some risk of the alum making it’s way to steel nozzle parts that I’d rather
not risk.
I’ve dribbled a little Alum on the joint between the broken hex and the
fastener to see if enough metal dissolves to let the hex drop out,

drill sharp. Fixture it in a mill or drill press and drill a pilot hole for
an extractor or a left hand drill bit. Use coolant or even tapping compound
for all this. There are a lot of other ways but I’m assuming minimums.

I had a hex drive socket shear off in a fastener today.
The hex sheared at the top of the fastener, of course, so there is
nothing to grab; it also appears to be cocked in the fastener and so won’t
just fall out.
I’ve tried drilling the broken hex but it’s tool steel....
