Dear List,
I guess there will be quite a few persons who are using some broadband
service where they are metered by the byte. What I would like to know
is their view on which interface they would recommend for checking
mail, fetchmail/getmail/Evolution/Thunderbird, where one downloads all
mail using POP/IMAP or a GMail like interface; when it comes to number
of bytes used.
Assuming that you read all of the useful mail you get, which may
include many mailing list messages, won't the online interface add
more overhead? Of course, we all get some spam message or the other
which we might delete without even opening it. Same holds for some
mail with attachments. So, I'd like to know your experience and
recommendation on this issue, even though this may vary from
individual to individual.
