i think fedora core / mandrake will be better to learn the commands &
know about various linux issues before getting much into the internals
Drop all! Get Ubuntu! A good compromise - debian based, user-friendlier.

Ubuntu is good, too, but I like plugging Gentoo! :-D
Hi,
So finally we have confused the new man very throughly !
Well here enters the Red Hat fan, I would suggest Fedora Core 3, hoping
you have a good new machine. New machine in the sense it has a decent
processor (PIII equivalent or above) and decent amount of HDD. If you want
to be stingy for space then try minimal installation and miss some thing
and then wonder why something doesnt work !
Nice to be back on the list after a gap of more than 2 years. In case
people forgot who I am, I am the guy in aero department, well may name on
google shows a lot of archives with my responses in it.
Hi suraj and Prabhu. Feels pretty nostalgic to be back on the list. I miss
our man Mr.M.K.Saravanan.
Well now that I am on the list, will add more activity to the list :D
