i think fedora core / mandrake will be better to learn the commands &
know about various linux issues before getting much into the internals
Actually, I think you can't separate learning the commands and learning the
issues. Especially Mandrake, Xandros and others - they move you away from the
actual OS, to the extent that you don't know it exists.
