in indic language what you write is what you pronounce...
Not in tamil at least. Not when you can't differentiate (and most people in my
home district of tirunelveli, and parts around it, just won't differentiate)
between Pa and Ba ... Prema getting pronounced as Brema .. and see how badly
mangled sanskrit slokas can get when they are transliterated (that is written
in tamil script) and then read out
[horrors, even MS was susceptible to that little failing in her renditions of
Sanskrit songs and shlokas, not that her voice didn't compensate for it
millions of times over..]
