When you are in a LUGs mailing list, that has its operations in a lingually
operative/ approved state of India, learn to expect, respect and tolerate
mails in that language of state.
I am a native speaker and still prefer to not get the mails in multiple
languages in a single mailing list. If that must done, I would filter
them and would like to see the mails tagged to enable this. I would
also note that no LUG seems to practise the method you prefer and this
has nothing whatsoever to do with tolerance but using a common medium of
communication. A practical problem is that a lot of people do not have
the fonts installed and would just see meaningless text and it doesn't
matter what language it is.
Let it also be clear that noone is discouraging Tamil translation work
but when you go as far typing in Tamil, it is not much of a burden to
tag the mails. It is a simple straight forward thing to do and I do not
understand the fuss about it.
