1) There is no need for a language tag. Because when somebody sends a Tamil
mail the subject line will be also in Tamil. So if some body see a Tamil(or
even any non-English subject) he or she can ignore if he/she is not able to
read it. We are much bothered about freedom
2) Providing translation for the mail - If the original author of
non-English mail provided translation somebody can volunteer to translate
it.
3) I am not seeing any relevancy for a Language specific mailing list under
the roof of ILIGC. Any how we will be talking about same
techno-philosophical matters related to FOSS.
4) I am a non Tamil Speaker, still the Tamil mails are not at all annoying
me. With my limited Tamil reading skill I may try to read and understand it
time permits. Otherwise I may ignore it; like a topic which is not
interesting to me ?or totally unknown to me (I think most people will do the
same). So what I feels is that - creating a new mailing list guidelines is
not required.
5) I have seen that Malayalam mails are appearing in the Kerala based FOSS
mailing list. Many non malayalaees are there in the list. Still I didn't saw
any such complaints in the mailing list, or arguments for a Malayalam tag.
6) If we increase tags what will happen if somebody says taht I am not
interested to read "technology X" and "technology Y" related mails and the
authors are requested to tage the mails with [technology X] and [technology
Y] tag?
