Hi Darran >I'd have to say that I thought their reply was pretty reasonable, But note this bit of what they said: "This is not something we are generally asked for in fact yours is the only request I am aware of in recent years." I find it hard to believe that nobody else has asked for Braille copy of catalogue!! Of course it's possible many Braille readers have asked, but the marketing Director wasn't made aware! Note they also said: "All our catalogues feature on our website, including our Christmas ones. This will be the best way for you to access our products as catalogues quickly become out of date" But remember they still do a print hard copy catalogue, and even do catalogue on tape, so why not braille? I did offer a compromise in that I am only asking for their Christmas catalogue in Braille, so not all year round catalogues. Another point to consider is at end of day I will still receive the Braille copy because I will just send print copy to RNIB to have transcribed! But the point is, why should RNIB fund the transcription costs that really the company should pay for. If we are to take the view that if a company offers its information on website, it's then ok not to offer hardcopy Braille, we could end up with no hard copy Braille at all! Why bother having Braille books, just have them on internet! Why bother with Braille bank statements, just use internet banking! why bother with having Braille magazines form RNIB just have them all via email! And so on. So are we supporting Braille, or are we to kill Braille off! Regards, Derek e-mail: derek.hornby_uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------ Yahoo!
