You underestimate the ability of the US to respond. We've gone on a
wartime footing in converting factories to ventilator and mask
production. It's like when we started cranking out bombers at Willow
Run. And once we start large-scale testing, we'll see that the death
rate is far lower than many feared. Many who catch it will recover
without even knowing they did.

( at current exponential rates the US could well have its 1millions corona death around mid April. intensive care facilities and related resources will be maxed out much earlier. )
