even those businesses are closed the names of what was there is still on the buildings and that might be why the maps are still showing them to be there, just a thought.

I've run into those kinds of things myself. I live not too far from a little
strip mall which among other things has a Safeway, a Supercuts, and a T.J.
Max. There are a number of smaller businesses that were there at one point
but are now gone, yet they're still listed in Seeing Eye. Also, though I
haven't checked this one in a while, I used to go to this Trampoline place
in Bellevue but it's now closed. Last I checked, it was still in the map
data, though I haven't checked in a while.

I have run into symilar probblems except that wht I find is some landmarks
that it gives are either way off i.e Pappajohns Pizza used to be at the
corner of Concord and Elm streets here in Manchester NH but has not been
there for at least 1-2 years. Also Manchester Housing Authority (MHRA, they
have it at Chestnut and Hanover that one is actually located at Pine and
hanover which is 1 block East of where the map says it is. I do not know if that is before or after update since I am new to this app so I won't comment on that either way. I will say thoughas far as directions and most landmarks are concerned, I find it to be very useful and I'm confident that it is only
going to improve as time goes on. I would also like to thank the folks who
have made it possible for us blind/visual impaired folks to have a reliable
source for directions to places as that hass never been possible before so
dispite some immperfections, let's be thankful for the work that has been
put forth thus far and the work that continues to be put towards
improvement.

I'll be glad to see the new update. I use my GPS in motorized mode and
the problem I find is that destinations are announced long before we
get to them. I find that 5 to 10 minutes later is when we've actually
arrived. The directions given are great and I like using motorized
mode when on paratransit or in a cab. I sure can tell how off course
para is and try to guide them in the right direction! I just can't
successfully search for pois. I'm told that pois I know are within ten
miles don't exist. That didn't seem to be a problem until after the
last upgrade! So, Mike, I'll be anxious to hear what the next upgrade
has to offer. I've not used pedestrian mode only because I don't have
a safe carrier for my cell phone so I generally use my Trekker Breeze.
In any case, it could be that geographically there might be better
success in some locations than in others.

I tend to switch back and forth, in many cases I will use the tomtom
pois since blsquare handles pois from foursquare. I have found, at
least in this area, that using the tomtom maps provides a much more
accurate address than open street maps does.
