Yeah right. And you probably also believe in the tooth fairy.

Mercedes Benz has absolutely no problem selling cars here that meet US
lighting laws, crash test standards, and emissions test standards.
Similarly, there is no reason to believe that Nokia or anyone else could
not make 8-VSB boxes if they chose to do so.

If they choose not to, even after adequately functioning parts have been
available for a few years for very reasonable rates, then something's
fishy.

Mercedes Benz would not insist that only the German lighing rules or
German emissions standards must apply to all the cars it sells. That
would be stupid. If they want to sell in the US market, they have to
abide by the rules here.

But they don't have to sell in the US market and they don't want to
because unlike you they don't think that 8-VSB measures up.

Adequately functioning parts don't exist with 8-VSB.

Don't expect others to make decisions based on your fantasies.
