I know, I should be more careful when I label someone as a zealot, before
looking in the mirror.

However, the one aspect of this long discussion, which I simply can not
comprehend, is the notion that the eight years lost awaiting the development
of workable VSB receivers is of little consequence to the OTA industry.
Eight years, in this age of technology, is a lifetime. Over thirty years
ago, when development moved at a relative snails pace, eight years spanned a
period between eight-track tape and the announcement of CDs. For
broadcasters to be saddled with such a handicap awaiting the benefits of
ATSC, when something else is available - only slightly better or worse,
depending upon whom one believes, can span an industries entire window of
opportunity to maintain or establish it?s relevance.
