Hi Simon,

Interesting stuff! I'd suggest the following changes:

(er) 09tcof 289: a Vial of Blue Pills -> some Sabito [so: Or, "a dose of
Sabito", but that sounds more like you need to see a doctor! Credit
David KubeÄka [DK] ]

I think things are more complicated here. You can get some Sabito under the
name 'Vial of Blue Pills' also in book no.7 section 227. In fact situations
in 7/227 and 9/155 are almost the same: you find some items one of which is
mysterious Vial of Blue Pills. If you have Healing you can 'identify the
nature of the Blue Pills', but even if you don't you can still take it and
later use it without knowing exactly about its effects. That is quite
strange and moreover inconsistent with one similar situation I can think of,
namely in 3/10 when you can examine several liquids but you cannot take them
unless you identify their effects.
Therefore I think it should be the same case here. You find Vial of Blue
Pills but only when you have Healing you can take it as a dose of Sabito. By
that name it would also be referred in choices, i.e. 'If you have a Vial of
Blue Pills' -> 'If you have some Sabito'. That would also be consistent with
later books which speak exclusively about Sabito.

I am for the first (shorter) one.

(er) 14tcok 239: Statue of Sl<ch.ucirc/(http://ch.ucirc/)>tar -> Statuette
of

Agreed.

(er) 14tcok 276: mark it on your Action Chart as a Special Item which
you carry in your tunic pocket -> mark it on your Action Chart as a
Backpack Item [so: Keys are always Backpack Items. Credit David KubeÄka

Agreed on this particular case. But keys are not always Backpack items, e.g.
Ornate Silver Key, Copper Key etc.

With respect to the distance between the key's location and its use,
maybe the Drakkarim have very few types of locks, and this key will open
all the "green locks" across the Drakkarim nations! ;-)

That sounds pretty credible ;-)

Agreed.

Respecting the flowchart, would the following tweaks be doable? If not,
it's no problem, I just thought I'd ask.

* Add a Key as to what the shortened Disciplines are (it took me a
minute or two to work out AnK = Animal Kinship)

Yeah, I definitely plan to make a legend somewhere. I still don't know where
to put it exactly. Separate legend for each book or single centralized one?
Also the abbreviations are not settled yet...

* Different colours for Items vs. Disciplines (e.g. Required Item is
red; Required Discipline is in green)

Plan it. Once there are also non-special items I will probably differentiate
them as well.

* For Sections that return back (e.g. Section 152 -> 181 -> 152 in Book
3) would it be possible to use one arrow with 'dir = "both" ' to keep
the flowchart easier to read?

That would be harder to do because I traverse the sections from 1 to 350
sequentially and never go back. The amount of work required does not seem to
compensate for the effort :-)
On the other hand I am considering concetrating parallel edges. That is only
one switch in graphviz source file and it could increase readability.

* Maybe keep the zeroes before one and two-digit Section numbers: 006,
083, etc. This makes it easier to search for a specific Section number

That's good idea. I will try it and see.

Generally these are really just little tweaks that can be done at any time.
For now I want to do first more essential things like displaying combat
nodes (not as easy because I doesn't want that the nodes with more opponents
take too much space) and also connecting these components separated due to
riddles. But I won't work on it until my first point from previous mail is
somehow resolved.

These look very good already, though. Great work!
