[Ilugc] Linux powers the Sub-Rs10, 000 PC | OSS Development Centre in Chennai

Hi,

The Union Minister of  Communication and Information Technology,
Mr.Dayanidhi Maran has announced that a Open Source Development
Centre will be started in Chennai (by the end of next month). He made
this announcement when inagurating the Sub-Rs10,000 PC of HCL
which runs Linux (looks like it's FC3 from the press photo). Another
Company, Xenitis, has also launced a similar low cost PC running Linux. 

Is this the beginning of an explosion of Govenment supported
Linux/Open Source initiatives?
